Acupuncture, Herbs, Moxibustion
Each treatment is tailored to your specific needs—in the moment, in your body, and in your life.
Acupuncture forms the foundation of most sessions and is often complemented by other modalities, including moxibustion. Your first treatment typically lasts between 90 minutes to two hours and includes a thorough assessment of your alignment, pulses, and constitutional patterns.
As a student of Kiiko Matsumoto’s innovative lineage, I also incorporate diagnostic palpation—allowing us to receive real-time feedback from the body and adjust the treatment based on what we observe and feel together.
Follow-up sessions generally last about an hour and continue to evolve based on your process.
• Chronic and acute pain
• Stress, anxiety, and emotional imbalances
• Menstrual and reproductive health
• Digestive issues
• Immune support
• Fatigue and burnout
• Sleep concerns
• Recovery from trauma or illness
Most people find acupuncture deeply calming. You may feel a gentle shift—like your body exhaling something it’s been holding for too long. You may feel clearer, lighter, or more grounded. Each session is different, just like each person.
Acupuncture doesn’t force your body to heal—it invites it to remember.
To slow down.
To realign with what’s already whole within you.
Herbal treatments may be recommended as part of your care.
Remedies may include food- and plant-based preparations made from herbs grown in my garden or gathered respectfully from around the island. Each one is prepared with intention and deep attention—honoring the plant, the process, and the healing it offers.
I also work with Chinese herbal formulas, available in powdered tea or pill form, sourced responsibly from trusted herbal dispensaries.
Whether wildcrafted or traditionally compounded, each formula is chosen to support your unique constitution and the phase of healing you’re in.
This is the burning of the fuzzy underside of the herb artemisia vulgaris, or mugwort, on or over the skin. The heat combines with the beneficial substances found in the herb and stimulates the flow of qi and blood. This modality can be used instead of or in combination with acupuncture. It is very gentle and tonifying.
"...I cannot tell you how good I feel, I haven't slept like this in so long! I literally slept with no pain and woke up feeling so good... I took a shower and could lift my arms up all the way for the first time in ages.."
- Aiko
This ancient modality was first noted for its healing action over 2,500 years ago in China. From ancient lineages, to modern sports acupuncture, there are countless variations in needling techniques. There are even techniques that use a needle but don't penetrate the skin! What may be even more amazing than the diversity of practices, is that they all have the potential for great effect.
Just as your face reflects your experiences, thoughts and emotions, so does the density of your physical body. To a skilled practitioner, your body is a road map of the movement, or the blockage, of the vital energy called qi. The needles, which are extremely fine (nothing like a hypodermic needle), are inserted in a way that re-establishes the proper flow of qi so the body can do what it was meant to, heal itself.
The elegance of this practice is that, unlike medications, nothing is added to the system. Everything you need to heal is within you. Acupuncture simply allows you to access your own healing ability.
For this reason, acupuncture can effectively treat all types of ailments. Whether you are suffering from pain due to injury or disease, anxiety or depression, or internal disorders, acupuncture can facilitate relief.
“I realized this morning and for the longest time I been waking up feeling pretty damn good…haven’t had the normal aches and pains for awhile now I couldn’t help but think back that it was as far back as since the last session.. I know its been awhile, but honestly I feel good still and I just wanted for share and mahalo you for that…”
